Diary entry #001: Evening and sunrise walk with my vintage Canon lens in El Molinar
I haven’t even lifted my Sony A7iv’s in weeks but suddenly I felt the urge. Could it have anything to do with the sun coming through and the wind calming down, I wonder… he.
Yeah, Mallorca winter can be rough, and has been so. Very much. Anyway, I shouldn’t complain.
Andreas and I went over to our studio to grab a few things and then went out on the beach front promenade for a stroll. And perhaps I’m a child of my time, and not only because I get paid for my photography, but I do feel like I’m more present in the moment and forgetting about anything else when I have a camera with me and just tries to make something beautiful with what I have around me.
And yes. The sea is beautiful. And now, this time of the year the air is crisp and clean, colours are gorgeous.
But. We live in 2026. One word, or I guess two.
Plastic polition.
The image that stuck with me the most is the man playing trumpet on what almost looks like, a pile of trash.
In one of the other images, the plastic lights up almost like those little solar lamps you can place around your garden.
But when the touristic season starts, it will all be gone. Cleaned up. Hidden.
And new plastic lures out at see, ready to land on the beaches with the next storm.
Of course, in a family photography session or wedding portraits on a beach,I would remove any trash I see. But in my landscape and city images, I want to show the world as it is. The magical light. The people living in it. And everything else that tells something about the age we’re in.
Btw. I wrote this on my own, no AI, no autocorrect or nothing. So excuse any errors from this Sweden born person, trying to develop my writing skills and just generally my creativity.
