Discovering Finca Son Mir – It could be a perfect venue match for your Mallorca wedding

Planning a destination wedding in Mallorca and now your venue hunting? Whether you're dreaming of an intimate celebration with your closest friends and family or envisioning a big, joyful party with over 100 guests, I might have found the perfect venue for you. Finca Son Mir might just be your perfect match.

This historic Mallorcan estate strikes that rare balance – grand yet cozy, elegant yet welcoming.

I can’t believe it, but now at the end of May I photographed and filmed a wedding here for the first time, and it was so much more beautiful than I could ever imagine. It’s so green, lucious and well kept. And even though it was only around 40 guests, it never felt too grand for the party size.

It never felt “too big” for a smaller wedding

One of the most common concerns for couples planning a small or medium-sized wedding is that the venue might feel too empty. But at Son Mir, that’s not the case.

Thanks to the smart layout of the finca, you can enjoy an intimate and atmospheric celebration even if you’re only around 30–50 people. With its charming courtyards, cozy dining areas, and lush garden spaces, the venue naturally adapts to your guest count without ever feeling too sparse or overwhelming.

💃 There’s plenty of room for 100+ guests too

That said, if you’re planning a larger wedding, Son Mir absolutely has the space to host it – beautifully. With wide open terraces, elegant indoor spaces, and gorgeous lighting options, it transforms into a truly impressive backdrop for a full-on party. Your guests can spread out comfortably while still feeling connected, whether they’re dining under the stars or dancing the night away.

🌦️ A beautiful Plan B (just in case)

Let’s be real – even in sunny Mallorca, the weather can surprise you. That’s why it's such a relief that Son Mir has a beautiful indoor Plan B space. The interiors are just as charming as the outdoor areas, with stone walls, arches, and warm ambient lighting. If you do need to move part of your celebration inside, your wedding won’t lose any of its atmosphere or style.

❗️Do you expect gorgeous drone footage for your wedding film? Read this first!

Finca Son Mir is located very close to Palma’s airport – which means drone flights are strictly regulated. With a standard drone license, it’s not allowed to fly here at all. You need a professional drone pilot with special radio equipment and the correct permits to communicate with the control tower.

But don’t worry – if you're dreaming of aerial shots of this stunning venue, I've got you covered. I work with licensed drone pilots who have all the necessary permits and equipment to fly safely and legally at Son Mir.

And if you're getting married somewhere else on the island? Then I can fly the drone myself – I’m a registered drone operator and have my drone card, so we’re fully covered wherever it’s allowed.

A photographer’s dream – I mean, truly

From a photography point of view, Son Mir is heaven. The rustic textures, olive groves, architectural details, and dreamy golden hour light make it one of the most photogenic venues on the island. I can highly recommend this place for both the elegant wedding, and the rustic one.
